with the
TTC by volunteering
in one of
the following
areas:
- TTC

- Finish
line
(non-running
TTC members preferred)
- Advertisement/Publicity
if
one of these
areas
are
of interest
to you please
let Frannie James or one
of the officers know .
Let's continue to build a strong
and great running club. Remember
- it's YOUR running club.

TTC Volunteer Corner
NOTICE
to Tuscaloosa Track Club Runners –
We
are asking each TTC member to volunteer for
two Grand Prix
races. There
are many opportunities to volunteer.
- We need two volunteers to help
set up the finish line. Richard Carroll
and
Ed Freeman
know how to do this and one
of them will always be there, but they
need
help to set up flags, orange cones,
and the FINISH sign. These volunteers
can
still run in the race. Report to Mark
or Ed at the TTC
white van at least one hour before the
race
starts.
- The
Finish Line needs four volunteers:
- 1)
a clock/timer
manager,
- 2)
a card hander
- 3)
a person guider;
- 4)
a table
manager.
The Finish
Line volunteers may not
run in the race.
I will try and place nonrunners
in these
positions
(injured TTC members and
TTC nonrunners
who
are
usually spouses of runners).
Report to the
Finish Line at least 30
minutes prior to
the race
starting so that
you can
practice! All of the jobs
are easy, you
just
need to
practice
a little and feel
comfortable. (TTC Runners take an extra
note: ask your
spouses
if they would like to
get
involved.
We need them! They should
have a fun time.)
- Volunteer
on Call: Other volunteer
positions that TTC
may need are the people who for various
activities,
e. g. stand at the
one-mile, two-mile,
three-mile marks to shout split times.
Sometimes
Race Directors organizing the race
can
not
find their own volunteers
and rely on the
Track Club for help. So, you may sign
up
with me to be a “volunteer on
call” for
the race. If you are not needed,
you may
run in the race. These volunteers
will
check in with the Race Directors at
the registration
desk, at least 45 minutes prior
to the
race starting. Many times, you will
find out you
are not needed the morning of the
race.
In this case, you may run in the race
and your
volunteer race will still count!
Race volunteers
are extremely important
people and are
very much appreciated by the runners. Without
the volunteers,
the race is not
successful.
If you would like to volunteer, please email us at info@tuscaloosatrackclub.com.
