Age: 42
Years Running: 3
My Favorite Race: I have 2...Rickey Harrison
10K and the Rabbit Race
Why? I like the RH 10K
because it’s always cold on that day and I love
running when it’s cold. I also like the rabbit race
because it marks the end of the running season and
the arrival of really hot weather which I hate! Plus,
both races are fun and well attended
Why do you run?: to stay young and it’s
Cheaper than playing golf.
I usually run: around my neighborhood
Time of Day: in the evenings
Days: I don’t have a regular schedule. I try to run 3-
4 days a week depending on how early I get home.
Avg. Training Pace: slow
Avg. Race Pace: not fast enough
Favorite Training Route: around campus,
the historic district, and downtown tuscaloosa
Favorite Running Shoes: I tend to abuse
them so I’m still trying to find a pair that I really
like. Any suggestions?
What is your occupation:
Asst. Professor at UA.
Comments:
TTC does a wonderful job with all the races in town
and it’s allowed me to meet a lot of very nice people.

Age: 30
Years Running: Almost Two
My Favorite Race: two: The Canine Classic and
the tybee island marathon
Why? The canine classis is a favorite because it was
my first race to ever volunteer. I got to work the
finish line. The finish line is a great place to be
because people are always so happy to see you. Plus,
I brought my dog and there were so many great
things for the dogs there. The canine classic is for a
wonderful cause!
The tybee island marathon is my other favorite
because it was my first marathon! I got sick in the
middle of it, but my friend Jessica stayed with me
the entire time and we finished!!! This race helped
me test my limits. It also made me realize how great
friends help us to do great things!
Why do you run?: I started running because my
dad used to run, and I wanted it to be something we
could do together. I have continued running though
because it makes me feel good and it is something I
can do with my friends! Plus, I love being a part of
the running community in Tuscaloosa
I usually run:
Time of Day: morning
Days: ideally: 3 to 4 days a week. With travel
and school lately- 1-2 days a week
Avg. Training Pace: 10:00 minute miles…slow
to some, but it took me a long time to get there and I
am proud of it.
Avg. Race Pace: still working on that, right now I
only have one pace!
