TTC
Meeting Minutes 1/11/05
The
first TTC
meeting of
the year
was held
at the home
of Mark Rutherford
on 1/11/05
at 6:30.
Agenda:
TTC
website
was discussed.
It was
announced
that Susan
Lucas is
lead coordinator
for the site. Richard Carroll disclosed a meeting is in the near future for finishing
the website design.
Laurie
Arizumi
gave a financial
report for
the club.
She reported
that the
TTC checking
account
had a balance
of $2000.00.
RRCA fees
and benefits
were discussed.
Laurie and Guy to discuss insurance liabilities, exclusions, etc, that
the TTC
has through RRCA. For insurance purposes, only runners, walkers and
volunteers
need to join the TTC. Children, babies and spouses
who do not
run/walk
or volunteer
for TTC events do
not need
to be members.
This causes our insurance rates to be higher than they need to be.
It was suggested
that Race
Directors
join the
TTC for
insurance
coverage;
this is
one area
that Laurie and Guy were to look into.
Total members
to date is
139. Ed suggested
packets sent
to new members.
It was also suggested to perhaps have some "no-frills" runs to help motivate
new members.
Mike Higgins
reminded
everyone
about Lake
Lurlene trail
with a $2.00
fee to enter
the park.
Guy Nelson
asked about
a better
way to get
the word
out about
the track
club, i.e.
a message
board on
the TTC website
as well as yahoo.com.
A few of
the spring
races were
in question.
The Symphony Run is now a biannual
run. There
will not
be a Symphony
Run this
year. City
Fest Run does
not have
a director. Mike Higgins will
contact someone
on the City
Fest Committee
to discuss
the race.
June Jog
is also
in question.
Sugar Chase
Race might possibly
be changed
to another race. We were told
that someone
is working on this run.
Mark announced
the possibility
of another director's
workshop
in the near
future. Emphasis
was stressed
on first
time race directors
attending
the
workshop.
The official
race season
was decided
on. As it
stands, the
season starts
at the first
of each
year
and goes
through
the entire
year
to December.
Point system
was also
discussed.
Runners
will have
to run at
least three
(3) races
to qualify
for
the Grand
Prix Points.
The top
10 races
of a runner's
highest
points
will
count towards
the year-end
points. If
two runners
are tied,
then the
highest number
of races
will
determine
the tie
breaker.
If there
is still
a tie, the
two runner's
fastest
times will
determine
the tie breaker.
Volunteering
for a race
counts as
a
race run
(no points)
but it
does count
as a race
in a tie
breaker.
Your age
on Jan. 1
will be your
official
GP age.
Mark also
mentioned
having a
PR person
to help
coordinate
newsletters,
bulletin
boards,
flyers,
etc. Mark
said that
there
will be
an officer
and board
members
meetings
will be
once a quarter
with informative
topics for
the entire
TTC
and possible
new members.
Meeting
was adjoined.
